Safety & Moderation

Live facilitators in every session, police-checked staff, culture-first onboarding, and clear rules -- with families kept in the loop when it matters.

Egg Academy is a moderated creative community -- not an open chat room. Here is what we actually do to keep the space appropriate, positive, and safe.

Humans in the room

Every live session is facilitator-led. Real staff are there watching the room, guiding the session, and stepping in when something is not appropriate. This is not a free-for-all server -- there are adults present who care about keeping content and behaviour on track.

Police-checked staff

Every Egg Academy staff member who interacts with students is police checked. That includes facilitators who run sessions and anyone else who works directly with young people in our community.
Welcoming onboarding for new Egg Academy creators and families

Culture first

Safety starts with shared expectations, not just rules on a page. Before teens jump into the wider community, families go through a guided tour, teens take part in a welcoming ceremony, and early sessions are guided so everyone understands how Egg works. Our lore and culture -- creators, not consumers -- gives everyone the same language for what kind of place this is meant to be.

Clear expectations -- and removal when needed

We lay out what is okay and what is not, in plain language, early and often. Most teens get it and contribute positively.

If someone keeps breaking the rules after expectations have been explained clearly, we remove them. We value our sanity, we value community spirit, and we will not let a small number of people ruin the energy for everyone else.

Families stay in the loop

When something matters -- behaviour that affects other students, repeated rule-breaking, or a decision to pause or remove someone -- we contact families. Parents are partners, not spectators. We would rather have an honest conversation early than let a problem fester.

A moderation plan behind the scenes

We follow a written moderation plan so responses are consistent and fair -- not improvised in the heat of the moment. Staff know how to escalate, when to involve parents, and when someone needs time away from the community. You do not need to memorise every step; what matters is that there is a clear process, and we use it.

Common questions

Are your staff police checked?
Yes. All Egg Academy staff who work directly with young people are police checked.
Will you call me about every small issue?
No. Many things are handled in the moment by a facilitator. We contact families when behaviour affects other students, keeps happening after clear warnings, or leads to a pause or removal from the community.
What if my teen makes a mistake?
We assume good intent. A one-off slip is usually a quick conversation about how we do things here. Removal is for when someone will not follow the rules after expectations have been laid out clearly.
How is this different from Discord or Roblox?
Egg Academy is built around learning projects and live facilitated sessions -- not open-ended social browsing. See creative community for my child.
